Once Upon a Read-a-thon Activity #1!

Ok, so the read-a-thon started today and I had my sister's kids and mine all morning, so I've read nada thus far.  However, I'm going out to dinner with 2 library friends this evening, and then I'm going to jump right into Drain Me!  It's a vampire book, so I"m hoping for good things, since I love vamps more than anything.

But I am going to at least participate in a mini-activity today, so here it is!  This one comes from Bailey at IBBlogging!

Question 1:
What is your favorite cover that has been revealed this summer and why? Post a link or picture of the cover if you want.
Question 2:
Do you rely on the cover to help you choose whether you want to read a book or not?
I think this one was revealed this summer, but I don't always pay attention to the when.  ::shrugs::  I love the cover for "The Savage Blue" by Zoraida Cordova.

Just look at how gorgeous that is!  And it's so different!  No girls in dresses or large faces on the cover! And the colors!  I just hope that this book is better than the first one.

And do I rely on the cover to help me choose whether or not to read a book?  Unfortunately, I have to answer that with a resounding "YES!"  I have missed some great reads because of covers.  Like The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian by Alexie Sherman.  I totally blew that one off and then when I finally read it, I was so, so mad at myself.  So, it's a habit I should break, but I do judge a book by its cover.

  1. Great choice. :) The Savage Blue's cover is so pretty! And yes, it's so easy to judge a book by its cover, no matter how bad that is.
