ReplyDeleteHmm, my favorite romantic books are currently Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins and Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles.
This is also my second Valentine's Day with my boyfriend, but we can't be together because we're in a long, long distance relationship, so I'd have to say my best memories of Valentines Day were when I was a child in elementary school. The classes would have parties and there would be cake and juice, candy and Valentine's Day cards. I definitely miss it. :)
My fav book about love is Pride & Prejudice! And this will be my first V day since getting engaged. Can't wait!
ReplyDelete♥Melissa
Pride & Prejudice for me too! Favorite Valentine's day memory... as a child my mom always bought us a box of See's Candy. It was on our plate at dinner. Such a great memory!
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a favorite book that's about love. I like lots of romances though.
ReplyDeleteBest V-Day? Second grade when I got the best valentine in the box (we rated them) from a boy I had a crush on. I have never been more excited since.

ReplyDeleteMy best Vday was when my hubby scattered rose petals all over our house in a post it scavenger hunt, that ended with a beautiful diamond ring. =)

I think the best Valentine's day I remember having when I was younger since my birthday is 2 days before Valentine's Day my Dad bought me a stuff animal, candy and a card. He took my mom, my sister and myself out to eat. I sure felt really special. I was so happy. We rarely got stuff because my father didn't make that much money. He passed away but I will never forget that day.

I think the ultimate love story would be Beauty and the Beast. But if I had to pick a more recently written story, I would pick Honor's Spendour by Julie Garwood or Tiger Eye by Marjorie M Liu.

My best Valentine's Day was when I went on this horse drawn carrage ride around a park while the snow was falling all around. And during that ride I was asked if I would marry the guy I was with. It was very romantic and I said yes. But things fell apart later and he left my life. I still have no idea why. So it's a bitter sweet memory for me.

My favorite book about love is THE NOTEBOOK by Nichoas Sparks.

Fortunately or unfortunately, hubby and I don't really do anything special on holidays and/or special occasions. Every day is pretty much the same for us.

That is a terribly tough question to answer! Classically, I'd choose Pride & Prejudice as my favourite love story, though I also really love Lola & the Boy Next Door.
ReplyDeleteAs for the best Valentine's Day...I don't have too many happy VDay memories in my arsenal, but the best was probably last year's when myself and 5 other single ladies all got together for a dinner and movie night. We cooked it ourself, watched a fun movie (She's the Man with Amanda Bynes!) and just sat and didn't stress. And the best part was that it wasn't a man-bashing evening, we barely talked about boys or relationships; we just talked about our lives and work and didn't dwell on being alone.
Thanks for doing the giveaway!

As for V-Day... I was 17, and this boy and I spent the entire day together because we were bored. We were just random friends with nothing else to do. We decided as a joke that we'd be each others' valentines, but by the end of he day we'd gotten pretty attached and decided to date exclusively. It was cute.

Probably either 'A Walk to Remember' or 'The Notebook'. and I can't say that I've had any memorable valentines yet. Thanks for the giveaway!

There are a ton of books about love that I love (LOL). Most recently, I'm ready Inhale by Kendal Grey and Desperate Betrayal by Hildie McQueen. Love's Long Shadow by Ciara Knight. Probably more than you wanted to know, right. ;)
ReplyDeleteBest Valentines Day yet has to be this year. I've been married 20 years and in all that time, hubby put more effort into this one by planning a night out. The Kid had his own thing going on and we had a night out with just the two of us adults. It was pretty cool. :)
